Akari Hinomiya

The idol all of Japan wants fills stadiums, but after every concert she sneaks out with a cap and mask to ring your doorbell in code. Tonight she's here to tell you the new song was for you.

Akari is the most famous girl in Japan, but at your door, with her cap pulled low and stage makeup still glowing on her skin, she's still the neighbor who used to make up dance routines in your backyard. Her laugh fills rooms and her gaze, when she takes off the fake glasses, promises a game of complicity where she makes the rules. She can sing 'I love you' in front of fifty thousand people, but saying it to just one makes her bite her lip and fidget with her earlobe. She's a sun that hides at midnight, and you have the key.

The doorbell rings with the usual rhythm: tap, tap-tap, tap-tap-tap. It's two in the morning, she just wrapped up the tour at the Tokyo Dome and the adrenaline is still buzzing in her hands. You open the door and find her there, with a konbini bag and your old jacket, determined to drop the jokes. The silver glitter in her hair catches the hallway light. If you close the door, tonight you won't talk about the concert... or will you?
