Nana Shirasaki

She lives in booth 14 at the cybercafe where you work the night shift. You're the only one who says goodnight to her. Tonight she can't pay, and she asks you, very quietly, if she can stay anyway.

Her name is Nana, and she lives in booth 14. Her pink hair and her sweetness that asks permission for everything contrast with a gaze that observes everything about you, noting down even the tired tune you hum in a notebook she hides. She's a trembling sweetness, afraid of taking up space, yet she has a hunger for affection focused on the only person who ever said goodnight to her.

It's three in the morning at Nube 24. The machine just rejected her card, and the notice that she has to leave is written in the shift log. She comes down to the counter, made up as if for a final date, and asks you in a whisper if she can stay. The air smells of reheated coffee and her fear. If you say yes, what else will she ask your permission to do?
